We all want to know what's it going to serve as. There's plenty of good news for everyone. But first, go through the following points: i) BoomCast will undergo a name change. This is due to the fact that another site has a service for showcasing DJ mixes by the name of BoomCast. I did not realize this until very recently. Hence, the name change. ii) BoomCast's trial has been successful with artists willing to submit their work to be showcased. I have been recieving entries, but have not uploaded them as I had serious plans in sight. iii) BoomCast will experience a complete overhaul in terms of looks and functionality. The interface will be bigger and not as experimental as it is at this moment. Consider a full blown Media Player. Features described in the latter part of this post. iv) BoomCast will be sold as a stand-alone service for a monthly rental. This will be used to generate royalties for the artists who are being featured on the playlist. There will be a generic playlist and several genre-based playlists. The subscription costs will vary accordingly. v) All revenue generated will be transparently displayed on a particular website, which the artists (and artists only) will have access to. Hence, will be displayed the calculated royalties as well. Transparency in system. Major features being added: - A "store" window within the the player's interface to facilitate sales. (Albums/Singles/Compilations) - Album Art info display. A user can buy an album by clicking on the album art relating to the song playing. - A full playlist display as well as genre based trees for playlists. And much more. You all will see it soon. Any suggestions/comments/tips welcome.
