1am Media [Music] [Hippy Freak] Posts: 1,484 Group: Music Department 4* Member #50 Joined: June 13, 2006	We are working hard to keep the boards clean of filth and advertising spam but it is inevitable that you will come across some from time-to-time. I'd like to just offer a friendly reminder that most of this "advertising" is actually scams, fakes and/or links to malicious scripts. Please do not click any links you see in the spam found on the board. If they were legitimate businesses they would not be resorting to bot spamming forum boards to advertise. And if you are looking for porn or medicinal sexual aids, the same still applies. Do not click the links. Even for such things as those, the links on the spam will not lead to you finding what you are looking for. Instead - at some point in time you will be asked to allow a script to run and/or for your credit card numbers. It's alot to ask at times during periods when no mod is available to clean the place up - but please just ignore the posts all together for your own good. THANKS

And I have seen spam posts with pr0n been read by members. If you are really looking for free and legit stuff, all you need to do is send me a PM anyway. I'm sure I can hook you up to some decent stuff. You don't need the meager doses of kink you'll find on this site, courtesy of half-arse bots. Basically, behind all that being-a-stupid-digital-pimp, the point I'm trying to make here is that your clicking on these posts and/or replying to them only brings in more (through some reverse engineered detection algorithms) and that will create a mess of topics for you all to browse through ultimately. This problem is spread to all forums (and not just forums. Blogs and all sortsa other CMS that have a frontend that allow users to submit data like comments etc.) all over the internet and there doesn't seem to be a viable solution for it yet. So while you're surfing the webtubes, just stay wary of the jellyfish stingers, okay?

Goa Joe Posts: 275 Group: Music Department Member #75 Joined: October 25, 2006	I've seen other boards simply put a filter question in the sign-up process (not a captcha image) just some kind of required field where the user has to type something like "1am" for example. It works too.
