What could have been, what never was, what is and will be, these roads lead to an uncertainty within known domains. This path measures a visual flight and the pilot is none other than AxEast hosting the Yol remix contest here at 1am-mediaforums.com About the contest Personal note to everyone from AxEast: Quote: Visited this in 2006, beginning of 2008 and now again. Always in a rush, not able to wrap up but trying to remember. It was about one night when after a long trip I found myself in deep windy forest at around 3:00 am, first time outside the city since 3-4 years by then. Hope 4:30 mins and on conveys a bit of the big noise and ecstasy that exploded sitting there in silence. The rest is the trip... Untidy, dirty, colorful, tired. Sort of world type harmony and over-jangling dirt I use a lot; but melodic and hope transparent too. Trips through ambient to sort of progressive house/trance forms. If at some point it makes you think of playing with it a bit or a lot... Great. I don't know what "Relation To Original" means to you when remixing but the greatest of distances maintaining surprising or subtly felt correlations work lovely on me. Parts : All 124 bpm sharp, core is on B flat B ramp. Parts I tried to render long for any variety and categorize by prefixes... Most labeled with the source synth etc. they were played at the end. _ext's are processed, cut samples from here and there. Some maybe cut on the tails. Hope you enjoy them if you feel like remixing. There ya have it. Straight from the horse's... Errr... I mean... The prodigy's mouth. How to enter Use the samples provided and layer them with your own creativity. All finished entries must be submitted to contests@1am-media.net before the last date for submissions. NOTE: If you're facing problems sending the entries to contests [AT] 1am-media [DOT] net you may alternatively, send in your entries to pulkit[DOT]sachdeva [AT] yahoo [DOT] com Contest Rules - The contest begins Wednesday, October 8, 2008. - Entrants may NOT submit their entries before Saturday, November 8, 2008. - Last date for submissions: Saturday, November 15, 2008. - ONLY 1 entry per participant allowed. - This contest is open to citizens of all countries. - Entrants must provide an MP3 version of their entry encoded at 128 kbps - 44,100 Hz ONLY - Entrants may NOT upload their entry elsewhere until the results of the contest are declared. Doing so WILL lead to disqualification. - Entrants may NOT ask for feedback on an unfinished entry. Doing so WILL lead to disqualification. - Contest open to registered users of 1amMedia forums only. Links Original track included within the zip package. - Download sample pack (74.74 MB) Prizes - The winner shall receive ACID Pro 6 software. - The winning entry will be featured at the top of the board with it's own exclusive player. - The winner shall receive a new custom made Signature/Avatar combo plus an increased amount of recognition in the community. - The winner shall also receive the following self-promo services: a) Custom banner (may or may not include logo) designed for a site of their choice (personal site, MySpace etc.) Custom landing page with a permanent buddy link to the page on CorrosionLogic v3 (2009). More information The entries will be featured on nDuce and the winner will be chosen by the unanimous decision of a judging panel, which will be revealed prior to the last date for submissions. Good luck. * NOTE: Please remember to fill in all the ID3 tags of your MP3 file before submitting. Eg: Track Title, Genre, Artist Name etc. These can be accessed by right clicking on your MP3 file and choosing "Properties". Then under the "Summary" tab click on "Advanced" (if "Simple" is activated) and edit the fields. [size=7]Judging template:[/size] - Production Quality: --/10 The overall production quality of the mix. - Originality: --/10 How well the song exhibits a new structure within the same genre or how effective is the jump to a different genre and how well the new structure supports it. New sounds used, chopping, better/unique sequencing etc. - Relation with the original: --/10 Despite all differences, how well the remix holds on and slutes the original feel/emotion/vibe etc. Content connection to be taken into account as well. - Overall mix: --/10 All concerns regarding a remix being over repetitious and/or lacking in appeal go here. If a remix is unappealing, this parameter gets lower values. However, since the appeal on any song is subjective, do not be biased by a "first impression". In case you find a mix to be very appealing, you are encouraged to give a good score. If not, in specific cases, it is suggested to borrow a helping hand from logic and try and work out a decent score depending upon the new genre. Ofcourse, most importantly, the structure of the remix counts. - Optional parameter(s) to be mentioned by the judge(s): --/10 (each parameter) Judge(s) are advised to limit this optional parameter to 1 as it lowers any chances of confusion later on. If you feel inclined to add more, no one is stopping you but owing to a common perspective, 1 added parameter should be enough as the most important ones have already been mentioned. DO NOT use fractional scores using this system. It was made to eliminate such ambiguities. Use full integral scores only. Oh yes and 70 mb's ? I'm currently at a place with only a 56k connection but okay I'm back to my 16mbps ways on monday or tuesday so it'll be download away then. Good luck to everyone!

1am Media (Music) Posts: 8 Group: Music Department Member #21 Joined: February 26, 2006	hello all ... as for the acid pro pack on a question above : it is sth i won in an ap contest, still in its original packaging. i had one already so recycling the goods there's more in the pack as far as I remember ... like a samples CD and a NI Kompakt sampler VST w 100+ instruments etc. it was intended more to be a useful memoir than a "hey look what's on this contest" thingy . hope you enjoy playing w the source material if u are interested. talk later, be well.

I got to know the new engine was up and running. This monster is gonna take a while to tame. I'll take a look into it as soon as possible. How are the contest related activities going guys?
